PRK Recovery Timeline After Surgery
Eyesight is a very important sense as far as human beings are concerned and when it experiences complications there is generally a need to have it corrected. Photo refractive keratactomy is a form of surgery that is performed on the cornea to help correct vision. It uses laser rays to sculpt the cornea rather than cut it open and can be used to correct myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism. Since it affects a tiny portion of the cornea tissue it usually requires some time to heal. Can take a few days and there are a few things that one needs look out for during this period. It is important to avoid infection and this can be done through the use of antibiotics. Some people may experience some discomfort during recovery and this can be countered by use of bandage contact lenses. One may also feel increased sensitivity to light. These are just some of the things one may go through during prk recovery.
